Company: KinPath, Inc. (“KinPath,” “we,” “us”)

Services: KinPath mobile applications (iOS and Android), our website and web portal, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

1) What This Policy Covers

 

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Services. The Services are designed for older adults, friends and family who support them, and care providers.

 

 

2) Information We Collect

 

 

A. Information You Provide

 

  • Account and Contact Information: name, email address, phone number, and authentication credentials.

  • Profile Information: information you choose to provide about yourself (or an older adult you support), such as age range, preferences, routines, goals, and caregiving context.

  • User Content: messages, notes, uploaded content, and other information you submit through the Services.

  • Support Communications: information you provide when you contact support or submit feedback.

 

 

B. Audio Recordings and Transcripts

If you enable voice features or record audio in the Services:

 

  • We collect audio recordings and may generate transcripts.

  • We store audio recordings and transcripts and use them to provide the Services and to detect and improve health-related signals based on your interactions (for example, patterns in speech, conversation, and reported experiences).

 

You can stop audio collection by disabling microphone permissions in your device settings and/or disabling voice features in the app (if available).

 

 

C. SMS/Text Messaging Data

If you provide a phone number or opt in to receive text messages:

 

  • We collect your phone number and SMS-related information such as delivery status, timestamps, and your opt-in/opt-out preferences.

  • If you send or receive text messages with us, we may collect the content of those messages (for example, support requests and responses).

 

 

D. Information We Collect Automatically

 

  • Device and App Data: device type, operating system, app version, language settings, and identifiers associated with your device or app instance.

  • Usage Data: feature usage, interaction events, performance metrics, and crash logs.

  • Website/Portal Data: pages visited, referral URLs, and similar information collected through cookies and similar technologies.

 

 

3) How We Use Information

 

We use information to:

 

  • Provide and operate the Services (including storing and presenting your content, account administration, support, and billing).

  • Process conversations (including audio) to generate insights, summaries, and health-related signals intended to support awareness and earlier detection of concerning changes.

  • Personalize the experience (preferences, routines, reminders, and engagement features).

  • Improve and develop the Services (including reliability, safety, and performance).

  • Monitor and secure the Services (fraud prevention, abuse detection, debugging, and enforcing terms).

  • Communicate with you (service updates, security notices, and support responses).

  • SMS Communications (if enabled): send service-related texts such as verification codes, onboarding reminders, account notices, and support communications.

 

 

4) Health-Related and Sensitive Information

 

The Services may process information that could be considered sensitive, including information about physical or mental health and daily functioning, depending on what you share. Audio recordings and transcripts may also be sensitive in some jurisdictions.

 

Not Emergency Services / Not Medical Care: The Services are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and are not intended for emergencies. If you believe someone is experiencing an emergency, call local emergency services immediately.

 

 

5) How We Disclose Information

 

We disclose information in the following circumstances:

 

 

A. At Your Direction

We may share information when you choose to share outputs or content from the Services with others.

 

 

B. Service Providers and Vendors

We use vendors and service providers to help us operate the Services (for example: hosting, storage, analytics, monitoring, customer support, and billing). These providers may process information only to perform services for us and consistent with this Policy.

 

Our infrastructure and service providers may include cloud and data services (for example, AWS, GCP, and Supabase) and analytics/monitoring tools (for example, Mixpanel and Grafana) used to understand product usage, monitor system health, and improve reliability.

 

 

C. SMS Consent / Opt-In Data

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent information will not be shared with third parties for their marketing or advertising purposes. We may share limited information with service providers that help us deliver text messages solely to provide the messaging service on our behalf.

 

 

D. Legal, Safety, and Business Transactions

We may disclose information:

 

  • to comply with law or legal process,

  • to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, KinPath, or others, or

  • in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.

 

No Advertising Sale of Data: We do not use advertising targeting pixels and we do not sell personal information for targeted advertising purposes.

 

 

6) Cookies and Analytics

 

Our website and web portal may use cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and analytics. You can control cookies through browser settings; some features may not function without certain cookies.

 

 

7) Data Retention

 

We retain information as long as necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business purposes such as security, compliance, dispute resolution, and enforcement of our agreements.

 

We may retain and use aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

 

 

8) Your Choices and Requests

 

You may have choices and rights depending on where you live, including requesting access, correction, or deletion of certain information.

 

How to request: Email privacy@kinpath.app with the subject “Privacy Request.” We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests.

 

 

9) Security

 

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

 

 

10) Children

 

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law). If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us to request deletion.

 

 

11) International Users

 

If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other locations where we or our service providers operate.

 

 

12) Changes to This Policy

 

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the Effective Date and, if changes are material, we will provide notice through the Services or by other means.
